Inspiration
Our main source of inspiration has emerged from the artist The Weeknd. We have even based our name for our artists on this as we have used a similar concept with missing letters out, but in our case it is the The Chnge.
But not only are we using the name as inspiration we are basing the music video we plan to create on the song, Thayer than fitting the song round the video. We feel that this will inturn result in a better final product at the end of the line, as we won't be restricted to anything as such.
The music that The Weeknd produces has that of quite an unusual and eary feel about it. Therefore we are going to take this on board when creating the video. The main concept of our video is going to be mainly focused on an out of body experience that is usually/ sometime caused by the explicit use of illegal drugs.Too pull this sort of affect off we plan to ensure that both of our artists in the video very much look like they are on some sort of drug, such as cocaine etc. This should reflect the music to go with it. Hopefully therefore the video and the music itself will match and look collectibly right together.
Personally I feel the scene of a music video can either make it break a video and the whole concept. So with this in mind we have collectivly decided to use two completely different scenes and backgrounds, and possibly try and create an effect that It looks like it's too different camera roles together playing at the same time with the music video. The two scenes/backgrounds we hope to use are that of a very quiet surreal white blank room with the female artist and then on the other hand use a male and place him in a really busy public place such as a train station for example. Although the backgrounds/scenes are going to be drastically different we hope to pull off the same characteristics of the artists looking very much alone and scared due to the major use if drugs.

Audience Profile
There are several different types of Audiences out in the music industry which certain types of artists try to attract and entice as the audience tends to match the style of music in terms of the personality of the people and the type of music. The most clear and prominent example of this is that of an artist such as Justin Beiber his fans/target audience are most likely going to be young females as not only do they like the style of music but they also are most probably physically attracted to Justin Beiber himself. This I feel really shows that in the music industry nowadays it is not just purely about the actual 'music' but more maybe, specifically in genres such as pop the image to go with it aswell. What I'm saying is you have to have the complete package.
Considering all of the above we have come to a decision to focus on a board target audience. Our target audience is going to be for the elder teens and above but will be of both sexes, this is due to the fact that we hope to have both male and female in our music video.
Our audience is known as 'Stylers' on Uk tribes.
The information and definition of 'Stylers'- Stylers are united by a love for partying and looking good. They’ve also a fairly discerning bunch, into the finer things in life and less brash than, say, Blingers. Sharing an urban upbringing, they’re a diverse bunch, ranging from GCSE students to young professionals.

The ‘housification’ of r’n’b has really galvanised the emergence of the Stylers – now you can be both US cool and Ibiza hedonist in the one hit – and urban commercial dance music is the sound of the tribe. Think Drake, Rihanna, Rita Ora and Chris Brown, as well as artists like Maverick Sabre and Wiley.
A small subsection of the Stylers will be seeking out niche underground sounds, but most are listening to what’s readily available – artists championed by trusted sources, friends and stations like Radio 1Xtra, Choice FM and Rinse FM.
Keeping up appearances is a key feature of the Stylers. It’s not about ostentatious excess, but understated cool. Stylers will aspire to have the latest tech, from Samsung smart TVs to tablets. They’re also more likely than most Urban tribes to be paying a visit to music festivals. A thoroughly current creation of the 2010s, Stylers are set to grow in numbers and influence.
Band Name
After considering of a lot of names, we have come to a joint decision to call our music artist THE CHNGE.
The definiton of 'CHANGE' is 'The act or instance of making or becoming different'
We chose to call our artist THE CHNGE because they as a whole are attempting to become unique and different.

Music video song final decision
After several debates considering the genre of our music video we have finally come to a final decision on what we aim to achieve.
From the very start of the process I have been considering all genres such as Hip/hop R and B, Pop, Indie, Dance, Electro etc.
All of these genres are very different in there ways, some like hip hop and R and B are very flashy and revolve around money, on the other hand some genres are very much dumb down and quite subtle such as Indie.
Personally I feel it is vital to ensure that whatever genre you take on you have the sufficient knowledge and experience to carry off the project in a skilled manor. Also I feel it is very important to make sure all equipment is available to make the video to the best of your ability. This is one of the main reasoned we have steered away from the music genre of pop as we felt this type of genre requires a lot of editing and equipment that is not available to us. Also another factor that urged us away from that of those particular genres was that of where would we film it? As the background of most pop songs is almost 9/10 exotic and incredible! Obviously this type of background and scene is not really accessible to us.
Another genre that we have tried to avoid due to several reasons is that of Indie. One of the major factors that influenced us specifically not to head towards this genre was that of we personally didn't feel we had enough knowledge in the particular genre to pull a music video of this type off in a professional and skilled manor.
So after all consideration was taken we have decided to head towards a alternative R and B style. Specifically our song is going to either be house of balloons, The morning or Echoes of silence. All the previous songs i have just names are very similar to one another.

Thoughts/ideas for my music video
After taking my time to look at several different music videos of all genres and types. Personally I am in favour of the literal videos which display almost perfectly what the lyrics portray. The reason I think I like this sort of music video is that of I feel this is the most clear and understandable way to portray a message for example. Many people say that a picture can mean a thousand words, and I truly believe this is correct.
Regarding my preferable choice, I may aim to base my own music video on this concept due to the fact that I like it, which therefore could inturn mean that the work I put in should all contribute to a higher standard all together, concluding hopefully to a high quality end product.

Music video analysis- Treasure- Bruno Mars
This music video has been made specifically for Bruno Mars song 'Treasure'
Camera- The camera angle this is used in is from a high level which lowers to zoom down to the main stars in the video.
Props- The props used consist of lighting in the background, this is used to brighten the scene up and ensure that it is easy to focus on the main man in the music video which in this case is Bruno Mars as it is his song.

Preliminary task Evaluation
Blurred lines music video remake.
As an inexperienced group in the music video making industry i feel, we jumped straight into a much too complicated project for our first music video making task.
At the start of the project that we were attempting to create our minds were very much set on a pop/hip hop sort of genre. I personally think this is one of the most difficult genres to focus on whilst trying to recreate a music video as this genre of music tends to be associated with a flashy and glossy image. This is hard to portray as the equipment needed to pull this sort of genre off is very much i feel beyond the reach of the ourselves due to the finances we had available at the time. This consequently meant that we immediately faced difficulty recreating the video.
The equipment we used consisted of a tripod, a video camera and a white blank screen. We used both male and females in the video to create a balanced audience so both sexes would of been interested in the videp, but also we used it due to the fact that Robin Thicke and Pharell Williams feature in the video but also women do. To try and copy/imitate the stars featuring in the video we tried to copy the props used but also more importantly tried to match the mannerisms of the characters as best we could.
Overall i think the video was much too ambitious for my set of skills. This therefore i feel lead to the downfall of our project.
