Preliminary task Evaluation

Blurred lines music video remake.

As an inexperienced group in the music video  making industry i feel, we jumped straight into a much too complicated project for our first music video making task.

At the start of the project that we were attempting to create our minds were very much set on a pop/hip hop sort of genre. I personally think this is one of the most difficult genres to focus on whilst trying to recreate a music video as this genre of music tends to be associated with a flashy and glossy image. This is hard to portray as the equipment needed to pull this sort of genre off is very much i feel beyond the reach of the ourselves due to the finances we had available at the time. This consequently meant that we immediately faced difficulty recreating the video.

The equipment we used consisted of a tripod, a video camera and a white blank screen. We used both male and females in the video to create a balanced audience so both sexes would of been interested in the videp, but also we used it due to the fact that Robin Thicke and Pharell Williams feature in the video but also women do. To try and copy/imitate the stars featuring in the video we tried to copy the props used but also more importantly tried to match the mannerisms of the characters as best we could.

Overall i think the video was much too ambitious for my set of skills. This therefore i feel lead to the downfall of our project.
